Western Sydney University ad wins plaudits on Gruen

Western Sydney University's campaign featuring Sudanese ex-child soldier, Deng Adut, was praised by the Gruen panel on Wednesday night for capturing Adut's remarkable story of ambition, hope and determination.

The 90-second TVC is part of a wider re-brand and re-positioning for the University which will extent over a three year campaign focusing on inspiring and supporting students.

Gruen panellist Todd Sampson said: “It’s an incredible story. Alumni stories have been told many, many times, by many universities. But, what they focused on here was the trajectory of success, and that is a universal story about ambition, drive, hope and determination. I think they cracked it. It is one of my favourite ads of the year.”
