It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out the biggest moves in adland this week.

Stephen de Wolf joins DDB
Stephen de Wolf is DDB Australia’s new national chief creative officer. He will start the role in October after returning to Australia from the UK earlier this year.

Colenso BBDO duo switch to Deloitte Digital NZ

Deloitte Digital has appointed Colenso BBDO group executive creative director Dan Wright and executive business director Ahmad Salim to lead the creative practice in New Zealand. Wright takes on the chief creative officer role for New Zealand and Sydney, and Salim is the MD of Deloitte Digital Creative New Zealand.

Adam Krass is UM's chief digital, data and technology officer
UM Australia appointed Adam Krass chief digital, data and technology officer. He has been head of marketing technology at Omnicom Media Group’s Annalect since 2017 and before to that head of data and operations at GroupM’s Xaxis. He is also a former national group sales manager and state manager at eBay. He takes UM’s data and technology lead role previously held by Maria Grivas who was appointed CEO of Reprise in April.

QMS hires Melbourne Fashion Festival marketer as CMO
Tennille Burt, Melbourne Fashion Festival's head of sales & marketing, has been appointed chief marketing officer at outdoor media company QMS.

Katy Eng to run OMD Diverse
OMD's Katy Eng has been promoted to national director of OMD Diverse, a specialist unit for engaging with culturally and linguistically diverse people, the LGBTQI community, people living with vision or hearing impairments, and First Nations communities. Eng has been with OMD for nine years, most recently as OMD Create’s director of content marketing. 

Enero appoints bank CFO to the board
Louise Higgins is joining the board of directors of boutique marketing and communications company Enero. She is the CFO for the Australian Retail and Commercial Division of ANZ Bank Limited. She has been associate director at Macquarie Bank and COO  for Nova Entertainment. Prior to joining ANZ, she was appointed chief financial and strategic officer for the ABC.

Free TV's Sarah Waladan moves to IAB

IAB Australia has appointed Sarah Waladan director of policy and regulatory affairs effective immediately. She was head of legal and regulatory affairs at Free TV Australia advising members on communications law, regulatory and policy issues.

SCA appoints former ABC executive
Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has appointed former ABC executive Melanie Withnall to the newly created position of head of news and information. Withnall will be responsible for leading the overall broadcast and on-demand news function and implementing a growth strategy to further expand SCA’s news, information, and current affairs content portfolio on digital platform LiSTNR, and across the Hit and Triple M networks. Withnall previously worked at ABC where she was manager of ABC Radio Sydney.

James Ansell moves to Brisbane with Publicis Worldwide

Publicis Worldwide today announced the appointment of James Ansell to the role of digital experience director. Ansell has relocated to Brisbane from Sydney and joins the Publicis Worldwide leadership team. In his newly-created position, he will oversee a team of technologists, digital designers, developers, UX/UI and producers.  Ansell moves from his position as Client Partner at USTWO.

Sportsmate appoints Mike Morris general Manager - commercial
Sportsmate has appointed former Cricket Australia digital commercial strategist Mike Morris as general manager - commercial. The newly-developed role will further drive growth of Sportsmate's seven, unique sporting apps and bring improved ways of working to meet the current demands of an increasingly mobile, data and digital-focused business landscape.

Snap appoints first head of platform safety

Snap has appointed Jacqueline Beauchere as its first global head of platform safety. Beauchere joins from Microsoft where she was chief online safety officer, overseeing all aspects of the company’s online safety strategy. In her new role, she will be responsible for all efforts to raise awareness of and continue to strengthen Snap’s approach to safety, help advise on the development of policies and guidelines, and additional initiatives, features and tools that can further support the safety and wellbeing of Snapchatters. 

DoubleVerify expands team
DoubleVerify has appointed David Shen as business director in a string of new hires. Shen has more than a decade of digital and adtech experience across agencies, working on brands such as Samsung, Nestle, Amazon, and Coca-Cola. Susie Mather joins as sales director with more than 20 years of broadcast and digital experience, including stints at ViacomCBS in the UK and Seven West Media. Stuart Kruger also joins as sales director. Kruger has spent nearly seven years with Unruly in both London and Sydney. Neil Anderson joins as a sales solutions specialist with more than 15 years’ experience in adtech. Anderson has worked at Google/DoubleClick, neo@Ogilvy, and Lotame. Additionally, Sophia Warren has been promoted to client strategy director after two years at DoubleVerify.

New hires at Richards Rose

Independent creative agency Richards Rose has hired six. Roger Hayes joins as senior business director, Georgina Akkermans account manager, Melissa Daniels New account director, Paul Leone behavioural scientist, Claire McGinley  senior account manager and Nurul Arif creative project manager.
