Nick Garrett joins Deloitte Digital
Nick Garrett, a former CEO of Clemenger BBDO, is joining the Deloitte Digital team in Sydney. He joins Adrian Mills and Matt Lawson as the third partner in Deloitte Creative, connecting creativity across the Deloitte business and client base. Deloitte Digital has more than 800 digital and creative specialists across Australia.
MediaCom appoints director of ecommerce
The appointment is the agency’s inaugural hire to BLINK Consulting in Australia. Part of MediaCom and the WPP Consultancy Group, BLINK Consulting is a global, regional, and local network of consultants. In her role Bodlovic will improve existing capability across investment, data planning and MediaCom’s specialist division of Creative Systems to bring together media, content, creativity and platform optimisation to accelerate eCommerce growth. She will also lead transformation across eCommerce that unlocks growth across marketplaces and direct-to-consumer models incorporating operations, data strategy, technology, customer acquisition & innovation.
Newly-created role for Daniel O’Callaghan at SCA
SCA appointed Daniel O’Callaghan national digital sales manager, effective from September. O’Callaghan is tasked with leading the digital sales team to accelerate digital audio revenue growth through the LiSTNR platform across radio, podcasts, music and news, as well as SCA’s exclusive partnerships with SoundCloud and Sonos Radio.
OMD chief operating officer Nathan Young to join GroupM
Nathan Young will join GroupM as chief growth officer in Q4. A GroupM spokesperson says: “We continue to expand our expert capabilities as we evolve our business and shape the next era of media. Nathan’s extensive experience in commercial strategy, business operations & transformation, exceptional client and team management skills make him perfectly placed to join our team in GroupM and work closely with our agencies. Nathan brings with him over 20 years’ experience, both agency and sales side, and will be a fantastic addition to complement our teams.”
Nova makes key commercial leadership moves
Nova Entertainment has made a number of key appointments including Amanda Holenstein who takes on the head of agency role in Melbourne. Holenstein is responsible for coaching and developing the commercial team. Brooke Dul has been appointed as Melbourne head of CREATE with responsibility for guiding the CREATE team’s performance to deliver revenue goals and performance metrics across CREATE’s campaign function including strategy, talent partnerships, campaign delivery, local trade engagement and creative business development. Additionally, Nova has also appointed Steph Freeland-Small as head of digital audio commercial for Melbourne and promoted Liz Maplestone to head of digital audio commercial for the Adelaide, Perth, and international markets.
Google appoints new News Lab lead
Google has appointed Uma Patel as its News Lab lead for Australia and New Zealand. Patel replaces Nic Hopkins who has moved into a new role within Google’s News Partnerships team. Joining from FT Strategies, an innovation team from the Financial Times, Patel will focus on tackling misinformation, growing diversity within the industry and supporting digital transformation for journalists.
Xandr’s new boss
Xandr has appointed UM's Nicole Prior as its managing director for Australia and New Zealand. Prior is the former chief media partnerships officer at IPG Mediabrands’ UM. She has also held executive roles at MediaCom, Finecast, Ikon Communications, Network 10 and Seven Network.
TikToker joins Woolworths’ content team
Woolworths has appointed former store team member Liam Kirley as content coordinator for its newly launched TikTok account. Kirley (ashe_media) became popular on TikTok while sharing videos of himself working in Woolworths’ Baulkham Hills store. In his new role, he will head up TikTok content which will include recipe inspiration, cooking hacks, a look at new convenient ways of shopping, new stores with unique features, and exclusive content on how stores are run.
Finder finds chief product officer
Damon Pezaro joined Finder as first chief product officer. Pezaro, who joins from Prospa, will scale Finder’s product vision and strategy internationally. Finder opened its second US office in Denver this month and has rapid hiring plans across product, technology and design globally.
Impact expands local team
Global partnerships management platform Impact has appointed four new senior hires to its growing APAC team. Helena Barroso Zarco has been appointed as customer success director responsible for customer growth and retention across APAC. Alex Randall, Georgia Boward, and Catheline Lin join as enterprise account executives. All four new hires are based in Sydney.
Scroll Media expands local team
New Zealand-based Scroll Media has expanded its sales team in the Australian market. Adam De Roma and Tom Drinkwater take on senior roles based in Sydney, with Terry King joins in Melbourne to consult across the network. King was formerly general manager, publishing at Bauer Media Australia. De Roma has previously worked at IGN, Foxtel, and Network 10. Drinkwater spent four years at Sports Entertainment Network after moving from London where he worked at TalkSport.
iD Collective promotes Sarah Young to managing director
Full-service communications agency, iD Collective elevated its group general manager, Sarah Young to managing director. iD Collective founder, Amanda Booth will step back into strategy, creative direction, client service and mentorship of staff.
Topham Guerin appoints APAC managing director
Creative & digital agency Topham Guerin appointed Sam Newton managing director for APAC. Guerin, who joined TG London from WPP AUNZ Ogilvy Melbourne, will be based in TG’s Sydney office. Topham Guerin founding partner Sean Topham says: “Sam is exactly what we need in our Sydney office to ensure that we continue to grow and offer our clients the top-notch service they deserve.”
Think HQ senior appointments
Matt Thomas joins Think HQ as group head of integrated communications and Lani Cush is head of research and strategy. Founder and MD Jen Sharpe: "Their appointments add incredible skills and experience to our senior team. They lay a solid foundation for sustainable growth as we scale our business to meet growing client demand for communications and strategies devised and delivered through an inclusive lens."
