Gruen made its much-anticipated return to TV last night, pulling in some help from 303Lowe in making a pitch for landlines.
The ABC show is hosted by Will Anderson and features Leo Burnett Australia non-executive chairman Todd Sampson and Network Ten executive GM Russel Howcroft. Last night covered a raft of topics from pet foods to creating “movement” and was the top watched non-news program of the night according to overnight OzTam figures.
Its popular “The Pitch” segment also returned with 303Lowe pitting young guns against experience to convince people to give up their mobile and go back to using a landline.
The show was the fourth most watched show overall according to OzTam, picking up 974,000 viewers on debut.
However Ten's The Bachelor still picked up the most viewers in the core metro demographics topping the 18-49 and 25-54 age brackets.
The Bachelor was the seventh most watched show of the night with 920,000 viewers. Nine's The Block was the 13th most watched show with 748,000 viewers for its third episode.
Network Seven won the night with 27.3% audience share, followed by Nine on 24.8% ABC narrowly beat Network Ten on 20.8% compared to 20.7%. SBS followed on 6.3% audience share.
