Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) has announced the finalists in the running for best radio ad in the 2015 Siren Awards.

In addition, CRA has announced that The Chaser's Chris Taylor and Andrew Hanson will host the new format awards on 14 May. The duo were part of the Chaser Team that made their radio debut on Triple M in 2003 with their show 'The Friday Chaser.'

The Sirens, run by Commercial Radio Australia celebrate the best radio advertising in Australia across three segments: Singles, Campaigns and Craft.

Those among the shortlist for singles include Cummins&Partners for several of its Australian Open 'Get closer to the Action” adverts, McCann Melbourne for its 'Infrequent Flyers' work with Tigerair and Leo Burnett Sydney for its various 'Men Like Us' ads for Bundaberg Rum.

Cummins&Partners Australian Open and McCann Melbourne's Tigerair work also appears in the campaign section as does M&C Saatchi's 'Sounds Better' campaign for NRMA Insurance and Eardrum for its “It's a Love Thing' campaign for CRA.

CRA CEO Joan Warner said the awards are designed to recognise the best radio advertising in the country.

“In its 11th year, the Siren Awards continue to highlight the excellence and creativity across radio advertising,” Warner said.

“The awards provide important peer recognition and the opportunity to reward agencies and clients for ads which stand out from the crowd.”

Siren finalists are selected from five rounds of Siren voting throughout 2014-2015. The winners are decided by the Siren Creative Council, which is composed of creative directors from leading ad agencies.

The gold Siren winner will receive a trip to the Cannes Radio Lions in June, accompanied by the client of their winning campaign, while silver Sirens are also awarded to winners of the three siren categories.

In addition, there is a $5000 cash prize for the client-voted round picked by a panel of clients voting for the best ad from the rounds one to five overall winners.

Last year's gold Siren was taken home by DDB Sydney for “Road” which promoted Volkswagen's Fatigue Detection Technology.
