Sydney Airport parking has teamed up with the Bondi Hipsters to create a mocumentary series promoting its services.
Sydney Airport has launched a new four-part online mockumentary series in a bid to humanise the brand.
Led by PHD, the series, inspired by the UK TV series ‘Come Fly With Me’, centres around the comedy duo the Bondi Hipsters as two employees who work for Sydney Airport parking.
Throughout the series, the duo offer a behind-the-scenes look of the everyday tasks at the airport's car parks with a healthy dose of self-deprecating, irreverent humour.
The four videos will be amplified through social media alongside six second spots which will all direct people to a Keith and Brent Facebook page.
Unique to this campaign, thw Facebook page will be run by the characters themselves, giving visitors the chance to interact with the duo and get the low-down on the best parking deals at the airport.
This campaign is the first time the airport has used video content marketing and humour to increase customer engagement and build personality around one if its brands.
“It takes courage for a client to not take themselves too seriously and show the ability to laugh at oneself,” PHD content and partnerships director Christian Heath says.
“It’s an exciting and refreshing take on what can be a challenging subject,” Sydney Airport GM of landside operations and transport Craig Norton says.
