Merv Hughes and the Misters are hoping to raise $1.5 million for Priceline's Sisterhood Foundation.

Priceline Pharmacy launched the 2019 Misterhood for the Sisterhood campaign aiming to raise $1.5 million for the Sisterhood Foundation.

Fronted by cricket legend Merv Hughes, as well as some familiar, new ‘Misters’ – AFL greats, Glen Jakovich (WA), Dermott Brereton (Vic) and Tony Modra (SA), and NRL stars Billy Moore (Qld) and Braith Anasta (NSW & ACT).

Last year Hughes helped raise more than $1.1 million for charities who support women and their families.

This year he and the Misters plan to top this effort and raise $1.5 million for this year’s charity partners: Look Good Feel Better, Children First Foundation, PANDA, Dementia Australia and RAISE.

Each Mister will go head to head in a friendly rivalry, leading their state to raise the most money for the Sisterhood Foundation.

“As sons, husbands and fathers, the women in our lives and our families are our number one priority – that’s why there was no hesitation for my mates or myself to get on board for this year’s campaign," Hughes says.

"We need everyone to get out there, represent their state, and buy a $2 scratchie to reach our $1.5 million goal.”

Hughes and the Misters kicked off the campaign by competing in a 50-metre competitive sprint on the green at the Sydney Cricket Ground, ditching their usual attire and donning the iconic Priceline pink and glittered moustaches.

Braith Anasta took out first place, followed closely behind by Glen Jakovich.

Patron of the Sisterhood Foundation Ita Buttrose showed her support at the charity dash by sounding the starting horn, waving the pink flag, and congratulating the Misters at the finish line.

“We are thrilled that such iconic sporting heroes like Merv, Braith, Dermott, Billy, Tony and Glen have come on board to support the Priceline Sisterhood Foundation as our male ambassadors," Priceline Pharmacy CEO Richard Vincent says.

"We are encouraging Aussie men everywhere to step up and show their support for women and their families. If Merv and the Misters can do it, you can too!”

The campaign will run from 19 July to 29 August. Consumers can get behind the campaign by purchasing $2 scratchies at Priceline Pharmacies for a one in two chance of winning a prize, or donate directly in store or online

All proceeds will go directly to the Priceline Sisterhood Foundation’s charity partners.
