Naked fronts cheeky balls campaign.

Sportsbet and Naked Communications have leveraged the power of the ball joke to create a campaign which attracted six million impressions on social media in the space of a week and generated headlines from leading media agencies.

Naked was the creative agency behind the recent posters spotted around Melbourne asking whether anybody had seen a pair of (cricket) balls lying around.

If they had, would they kindly return them to the English cricket team?

The posters were followed up by billboards and a flyover banner during an English training session.

Naked Communications creative director Carlos Furnari said while the campaign wasn't exactly the mostly intellectually lofty in the world, it sure was effective.

“Sometimes in advertising we tend to over think things, but in the best possible way, this is not one of those occasions,” Furnari said.

“Light hearted real world communications that the general public embrace and voluntarily spread through social – feels like a win to me.”
