The Voice's two-part finale has taken out the top spots in all key demographics overnight, drawing in an audience just shy of one million, beating MasterChef and House Rules.

Split into the Grand Final and Winner Announced programs, both programs failed to break the one million viewer mark, with each part drawing in 987,000 and 968,000, respectively.

The results show a significant drop off in viewership compared to last year, with 2017's 'Winner Announced' program pulling an average metro audience of 1.306 million, a decline of over 300,000 viewers.

The grand final show was not without controversy, as 'Loop Artist' Sam Perry was named The Voice of 2018, despite judge Boy George previously questioning whether or not his style of music fitted the show's criteria.

House Rules continued to perform well in the ratings, with a Sunday night audience of 910,000, beating Ten's MasterChef, which drew an audience of 813,000.

In the overnight main channel share race, Nine pipped Seven to the post, taking a 23.1% share compared to Seven's 20.2%.

MasterChef and House Rules will go head-to-head tonight, while Nine will air its celebrity game show Talkin' Bout Your Generation in the primetime slot.
