MediaCom wins uni from M2M
Deakin University has appointed MediaCom Melbourne to implement its communications planning and activation across brand, faculties and course-related campaigns. It is thought the university first announced the media pitch in June of 2014 - meaning the process has last more than a year.
After a four-way pitch the agency has been awarded the University’s account from incumbent M2M.

AnalogFolk hires
AnalogFolk continues to bolster its content marketing business, appointing its first audience and influence director and an editor. Amy Broadfoot joins the agency to manage audience development and increase the influence for the brands it works with through media. In addition John Agnew joins as editor. Prior to AnalogFolk he was online editor at GQ.com.au.
Former Adland girl fails to cut Masterchef mustard
Former Cummins & Partners and Ogilvy & Mather copywriter Sara Oteri was last night eliminated from Channel Ten's MasterChef in an episode which attracted 1.07m viewers. Oteri, who moved from WA to Melbourne to work in advertising, secured her spot in the top 24 with an organic eye fillet with vegetables and red wine jus.
International speakers confirmed for ADMA event
27 international speakers for this year’s ADMA Global Forum (Advancing Analytics and Creative Fuel) taking place August 4-6 have been confirmed. Among the names are Vodafone’s head of global digital marketing Adam Stewart; Wired creative director Billy Sorrentino; Google chief creative officer John Merrifield and McDonald's senior director - digital experience lead Daniel Lee. 60 speakers from Australia will also be taking part in the event.
