Australia Day will also be Stan Day, with 26 January confirmed as the launch date for the Fairfax-Nine streaming video on demand service.
There has been much speculation around the launch date, with observers tipping the service to premiere on or before 8 February to coincide with the US premiere of tentpole show Better Call Saul.
“We know there’s been some speculation around Stan’s launch date, and while we’ve had to keep it under wraps we’re really proud to be able to announce that Australia’s new streaming service will launch on Australia Day,” StreamCo CEO Mike Sneesby said.
While the service will launch on Australia Day, fans waiting for Better Call Saul will have to wait until 9 February to get their fix with the show to be fast-tracked from the US.
Punters will also be able to get a sneak peek at Golden Globe winning Transparent, with Network Nine committing to pick up the first two episiodes, courtesy of Stan, to be shown on the network at 10pm on 27 January.
Meanwhile, full seasons of Mozart in the Jungle, Fargo, and others will be available on the platform, with all content available in high-definition.
The full back-catalogue of James Bond films will also be available as an SVOD exclusive on Stan, also in high-definition.
It also announced that its TV advertising campaign, starring Rebel Wilson, would start from this weekend.
With Presto Entertainment launched and Stan now with a launch date, all eyes will turn to US behemoth Netflix.
It has been rumoured to be launching in the Australian market on 31 March, but this has not yet been confirmed.
