Media Thursdays was in full swing last night, with more than 250 media industry execs rocking up to the third Media Thursday of 2016, some of which were sure to wake up with a sore head this morning.
From Fairfax, NBC Universal, Shazam, Spotify, MCN to ZO, all of adland flocked to Darlinghurst to get their network on and enjoy a cocktail (or five).
The event marks a new partnership with the 2XL group at the newly renovated Burdekin Rooms, with event sponsors Stolen Rum, Redbull, Sydney Brewery and even Mr Crackles providing the goods.
It was organised by ZenithOptimedia account executive planner/buyer, Andrew Lowther; News Corp digital account manager, Clem Birdsall and Mindshare media executive Raymond Ly.
With a fresh venue and new DJs, Birdsall tells AdNews he was happy with the strong turnout from companies outside traditional media agencies and publishers.
“We were happy to see people from a broad range of job titles too from managing directors, CEOs and heads of digital through to the juniors all partying the night away.
“The broad mix of people made it great for networking and catching up with old friends, which is exactly the sort of environment we are trying to create with the monthly events,” Birdsall says.
