Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has replaced outgoing director of digital of innovation, Clive Dickens, with Vijay Solanki from Philips head office in Amsterdam, now taking up the role.
Solanki, who is currently Philips’ senior director, global digital innovation, has more than 20 years of experience in business and 15 years in digital leadership.
He has held a number of leadership roles in digital and prior to his role at Philips was pivotal in in launching Shazam, moving Castrol into a digitally driven global football sponsorship and improving BlackBerry’s consumer success through social. He first began exploring the use of websites and mobile at Capital Radio in 1999.
Solanki will takeover from current SCA digital of innovation Clive Dickens, who announced he was departing for a role at Seven West Media Group in October last year. Dickens moved from the UK to work with SCA in 2013 and was believed to be instrumental to much of the radio network’s growth in digital since that time.
SCA CEO Rhys Holleran said: “We welcome Vijay to head up our progressive and dedicated digital team and look forward to him driving our business further in all areas of digital including strategy, innovation, digital partnerships and data analytics.”
Solanki will be relocating from Europe for the role, commencing at SCA in May this year.
