MFA Awards 2016

This year marks the 19th annual Media Federation Australia (MFA) Awards and the program is now open for entries.

The MFA Awards aim to demonstrate the value that media agencies bring to clients by showcasing great work that delivers results. Last year Anne Parsons won the Hall of Fame accolade and UM's 'Make Lego the Star of Christmas' was the star of night, picking up three awards and the Grand Prix.

This year the event takes place on 19 October at the Royal Hall of Industries and 2017 also sees a number of changes introduced. The 2017 MFA awards program now includes the introduction of gold, silver and bronze awards, six new categories and significant changes to the existing category criteria.

New categories include Best Communication Strategy; Best Collaboration; Best Use of Technology; Best Use of Real-Time Marketing; a People & Culture Award and Best Demonstration of Long-Term Results – sponsored by OMA's MOVE.

MFA CEO Sophie Madden says The Best People & Culture Initiative award is an important new category and one it expects to be highly contested.

“The award is designed to recognise the significant resource and investment by our members in this important area – awarding the best work that has contributed to agency performance,” Madden says.

More than 60 MFA member agencies nation-wide hosted simultaneous staff events at 10am
this morning to view the 2017 program.

Awards chairman Greg Graham says the MFA Awards recognise and celebrate the most innovative and effective work being produced by the industry.

“We really want to celebrate and encourage the work that is raising the bar and inspiring others,” Graham says.

“This year we have introduced a model where each category has the potential to take out a gold, silver and/or a bronze trophy. Only truly ground-breaking work will walk away with a gold statue.”

The 2017 MFA Award sponsors include RED, AANA, Advertising Standard Bureau, Facebook,
MOVE, Nine Entertainment Co & OzTam, Australian Radio Network, Magazine Networks,
Media I, Nielsen Media, SMI & Val Morgan. AdNews is the media partner and the charity partner is UnLtd.
