MediaCom's Sean Seamer on revamping the agency

MediaCom CEO Sean Seamer has told The Australia that WPP considered dropping the MediaCom brand name in the Australian market following its transparency scandal last year.

Seamer said instead the holding group allowed him to work at overhauling MediaCom's corporate culture as part of a top to bottom shake-up. He aims to make MediaCom more responsive by giving staff more autonomy to make decisions.

Seamer spoke to AdNews in March about his plan to improve perceptions of the media agency.

Ten points to consistency in revenue rise

Ten Network has pointed to the consistency of its programming as part of the reason its share of free-to-air TV advertising revenue has risen this year, according to The Australian Financial Review. Its share lifted to 25.2% in the first six months of 2016, compared to just 20.1% in early 2014. Ten chief programming officer Beverley McGarvey used the example of Family Feud, which had five pilots made before it had the go-ahead as an example of the meticulous approach the network has been taking to boost its results.

The Project helps lift WIN

Also in The AFR, WIN CEO Andrew Lancaster has pointed to shows such as The Project and Have You Been Paying Attention as “really firing” for the regional broadcaster since its affiliation deal with Ten. WIN switched affiliation parters from Nine to Ten in July 2016, and says it has seen strong growth since the move.
