The latest BRW Rich 200 list is out and media mogul portfolios have taken a hit in the latest figures.
Gina Reinhart’s personal wealth has fallen from number one for the first time in five years, placing her fourth with $6.06 billion, down from $14.02 billion last year.
Property developer Harry Triguboff tops the 2016 BRW Rich 200 list for the first time, as the real estate market surges and iron ore prices take a fall.
Seven West Media’s Kerry Stokes, who is now reportedly worth $1.71bn, is ranked 25th place overall. He falls from 16th place last year.
Coming in at 54 is WIN Corporation owner Bruce Gordon, who amassed a personal wealth of $990m - down $70m from last year.
Australian entrepreneur Harold Mitchell and media identity John Singleton managed to grow their wealth, with Mitchell worth $388m up from $375m and Singleton up $15m.
There are 53 billionaires on this year's list which is the most ever recorded by BRW. Of that, there was only six female billionaires. A total of 24 women made the overall BRW Rich 200 List, an increase from 17 last year.
The list has become a family affair this year, with Bianca Rinehart entering the list at number 60, with a fortune of $905m and James Packer's sister Gretel Packer making her debut at number 77. She has an estimated wealth of $739m.
Property remains the dominant sector. Of the 200 people on the list, 54 make most of their money in the property sector.
