Initiative Australia’s Jason Maggs has been awarded Emerging Leader at this year’s AdNews Agency of the Year Awards.
Maggs, senior director of strategy and global head of good at the agency, was among five finalists for the award, presented by SpotX, including AJ Coyne from Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, Sarah Tucker from LinkedIn, Kellie Dawson from MediaCom and Kylie Pascoe from OMD.
Maggs’ not-for-profit and mentoring work earned him the award. During his time in the US, he helped bring AIME (Aboriginal Indigenous Mentoring Experience) to the states, impacting the lives of 10,000 disadvantaged youths.
He also planned and executed corporate social responsibility programs for clients as head of global good, and helped lead marketing strategies for not-for-profit organisations.
His colleagues describe him as someone who “brings positive change and leads through action. He is the leader we need, not the one we deserve.”
Initiative Australia also took home the Employer of the Year (Headcount Over 75) award. See here for the full list of finalists.
AdNews is delighted to partner with Google, PubMatic, Outdoor Media Association, SpotX, NOVA Entertainment, IVE and Adstream for the AdNews Agency of the Year. AdNews would also like to thank Andrew Sherman, founder and CEO of The Transition Coach, for offering the winner of the Emerging Leader award an Executive Coaching program of eight coaching sessions.
