In support of its burgeoning new client roster and as part of a long-term growth strategy, Ikon Group Sydney has appointed former OMD interactive director, Sian Withers, to the newly created role of head of digital, to provide digital leadership for its Sydney team.

Previously with OMD Sydney, Withers commences work immediately with a direct remit to focus on the areas of digital strategy, thought leadership and helping the team further extend its already established digital offering and programmatic capabilities.

Withers has spent nearly a decade in the industry and at OMD she headed up the digital offering for key clients, including Qantas and Johnson & Johnson Pacific.

Ikon’s chief investment officer, Bryan Magee, said Ikon’s investment into digital channels is growing rapidly and an experienced digital leader was needed to provide a holistic point of view in the broader digital landscape.

“We are delighted to welcome someone of Sian’s calibre and professional experience to the team,” Magee said. “Strong digital leadership is vital to the future growth of our agency and this is an important new role for Ikon. Our full service offering now has the digital leadership which will take the agency’s depth of experience to another level.”

Prior to OMD, Withers worked at Initiative London, where she was charged with delivering digital innovation and integrated solutions across a range of clients and sectors including retail for Tesco, luxury for Patek Philippe and travel for Flight Centre and Malaysian Airlines.

“I’m really excited to be joining an agency like Ikon with a fresh new vision and helping shape their digital offerin," Withers said.

"At a time when the pace of technology, consumer behaviour and campaign accountability are rapidly transforming the marketing landscape, I’m looking forward to leveraging my digital experience to lead the digital strategy. Ikon has always challenged the status quo, and by pushing collaboration through its full service offering I can’t wait to work with the team to further develop an already strong digital product."
