Cannes Shortlists: Marcel Sydney dominates Design, Whybin/TBWA for PR

Australia has scored 11 finalist nods at the shortlist stage of the Cannes Design Lions, with Marcel Sydney being a front runner for a gong.

Two campaigns from Marcel Sydney for the ABC, The Faintest Clasp and The Scimitar’s Arc, have been nominated, with the Faintest Clasp nominated in two categories.

Interbrand Australia and M&C Saatchi have both appeared twice on the shortlist, with 303Mullen Lowe Sydney, Leo Burnett Melbourne, Whybin\TBWA Melbourne and Grey Melbourne all getting one finalist nod.

Whybin\TBWA Melbourne has again been nominated for its GAYNZ campaign, which scored a Bronze Lion in the Promo and Activation category.

Grey Melbourne is nominated for its This Bike Has MS campaign, which won a Silver Lion in the Health category.

PR Lions

Australia has scored 10 finalists at the shortlist stage of the Cannes PR Lions, led by Whybin\TBWA Melbourne with four finalist nods.

Whybin\TBWA Melbourne scored three nominations for its ANZ Pocket Money campaign, which became an internet sensation on International Women’s Day earlier this year.

The agency has also been nominated again for its GAYNZ campaign, which is quick becoming a Cannes favourite.

Whybin\TBWA Sydney scored three finalist nods for its David Jones It’s In You campaign and DDB Melbourne has also been recognised for its Unconventional Oven for KidSafe.

Digital Craft Lions

Two entries from Australia have made the cut at the shortlist stage of Cannes Digital Craft Lions.

Leo Burnett Sydney scored a nomination for its work for Samsung, Braindband and DDB Sydney for The Sydney Opera House #ComeOnIn campaign. DDB Sydney’s work took out a Bronze Lion in the Promo and Activation category yesterday.

Leo Burnett’s Brandband also took out a Silver Lion in the Lion Health category. Read more here.
