Andrew Holt to leave Clemenger

Clemenger BBDO Sydney MD Andrew Holt will leave the agency, with his role absorbed into senior management.

Holt has been with the Sydney office for 18 months, joining from a role as MD of the network's Wellington office.

Rob Morgan, Clemenger chairman told AdNews that the shift is not a restructure, merely one person from the management team exiting.

The responsibility will be shared among internal teams with the possibility of some internal promotions down the line to cover it.

“We are well served by a new generation of leadership, and have a stable, young and talented team,” Morgan said this morning.

The office will now be run by a streamlined structure of CEO Andy Pontin, executive creative director Paul Nagy and head of strategy Al Crawford and Emily Perrett, group account director.

Morgan says the abolition of the MD role will be limited to the Sydney arm only, with Melbourne MD Paul McMillan to continue in his role, reiterating that the agencies are run very differently.

The group had a major leadership shuffle in Melbourne in 2014 with Melbourne CEO Peter Biggs retiring, and Clemenger Group New Zealand CEO Jim Moser taking on a CEO chairman role. He has since been replaced as CEO by Nick Garrett, while Moser retains the chairman role.
