“Everyone's been waiting for the cord to get cut – but Pay TV is stabilising and is on the rise,” said Joe Pollard at the Media Summit last week, talking about the "frenzy" of OTT streaming platforms launching in Australia and how it will impact Telstra and its Foxtel business.
Wirth, on the other hand, addressed the launch of Red Planet and why Qantas shut down as a marketing operation when it was being dragged through the press for its corporate restructure and performance.
“We battled with this a lot,” she explained. “There was 12 months when out marketing was very limited. But we knew there was going to be a right time to re-engage at an emotional level.”
