Two of Australia’s top marketers, Telstra’s Joe Pollard and Qantas’ Olivia Wirth, are joining forces for a double keynote address at the AdNews Media Summit on May 22.
It will be the first public address for Pollard, Telstra’s managing director, marketing and media, since taking over running the country’s largest marketing operation and growing media interests from Mark Buckman in November.
The joint address will see the Wirth and Pollard outline their views on the shifts underway in the media sector, their growing investments in owned media channels, how they see the future unfolding between brands and paid media and the challenges and opportunities for marketing partners.
Pollard will also expand on Telstra’s evolving media strategy under her remit.
Wirth and Pollard are joined by a stellar line-up of 30 industry leaders including Shine Entertainment’s CEO Mark Fennessy, Citi’s director of equities research for media and telecoms, Justin Diddams, Ministry of Talent’s Roxy Jacenko, Tourism Australia’s CMO Lisa Ronson, Commonwealth Bank’s general manager for brand, sponsorship and marketing operations Stuart Tucker, Quantium director Tony Davis and Deloitte Digital director, Peter Bonney. A long line-up of media and agency CEOs also feature this year.
The Media Summit will deliver a rare “whole of industry” perspective on the media and marketing industry’s entire value chain, from content creation, paid media, growing budgets for brand-owned channels, a panel session on technology and platforms and an important session for media sales teams and agency traders called New World versus Old World.
