The campaign uses seven Australian women as ambassadors this year.

Major Australian fashion retailer Witchery and the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) have launched the 12th annual White Shirt Campaign with a line-up of seven Australian women as ambassadors for the philanthropic fashion cause.

Witchery’s White Shirt Campaign hinges on the importance of medical research and the vital development of an early detection test for ovarian cancer that is as readily available and accessible as a pap test or mammogram.

"Over 50% of the community incorrectly believe a pap test diagnoses ovarian cancer," OCRF CEO Lucinda Nolan says.

"This has ultimately led to ovarian cancer being the leading cause of death of all gynaecological cancers. We must find an early detection to save lives."

With early stages of ovarian cancer having no obvious symptoms, over 70% of women diagnosed are already in the advanced stages of the disease.

Of these women, 75 to 80% will not survive more than five years.

Witchery is one of the only leading Australian fashion brands to donate 100% of gross proceeds of a collection to a charitable cause.

"We are proud of Witchery’s longstanding partnership with the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation," Witchery managing director Simon Schofield says.

"To date, Witchery has contributed over $13 million to the OCRF who are incredibly focused on finding an early detection test."

Despite the White Shirt Campaign’s $13.5 million raised to fund expert research scientists, innovative projects to essential research equipment, the fight against ovarian cancer continues.

The Witchery White Cotton Shirt will be available to shop online via witchery.com.au and in-store throughout Australia and New Zealand from Wednesday May 6, 2020.

A member preview will go online from Tuesday May 5, 2020.

The OCRF White Shirt Day and World Ovarian Cancer Day is Friday May 8, 2020, marking the beginning of the three week campaign, concluding on Sunday May 31.
