"The number of children forced to leave their homes due to war or natural disasters is currently historically high."

This year, UNICEF Finland's Christmas campaign creates a better future for children. Because even the smallest bit of help can change the course of life.

The campaign concept was created by brand house SEK for UNICEF, opens the viewer’s eyes to the current situation, but above all makes you think of what’s to come. Through the hopeful future of children, we are allowed to see more opportunities than threats in the horizon.

The 'Gifts of Tomorrow' Christmas campaign tells the story of the future made possible by donations. About how good begets good. The commercial shows an escape story from a child’s point of view. It is the story of help that changes the direction of one life. A better future for children is also symbolized by UNICEF’s blue bag which can be seen on November 28.

Laura Helaniemi, marketing and communications director of UNICEF Finland, said: "Behind our Christmas campaign is concern especially for the situation of children fleeing disasters around the world.

"The number of children forced to leave their homes due to war or natural disasters is currently historically high. This Christmas, 40 million children have been forced to leave their homes due to conflict of natural disaster. All of them are on the run to find safety and a better life."

SEK’s creative director Annu Terho, said: "Creating a new marketing concept with UNICEF has been very meaningful for us, both as an office and in a personal level. A gift given today is of great importance in terms of what kind of world our children can grow up in."

The funds collected in the campaign are used for UNICEF’s work where the need for help is greatest.
