A raft of familiar, famous faces read Shakespeare's Sonnet 18 as part of a V-Day campaign to raise the profile of climate change.
The film was created by Ridley Scott Associates (RSA) and directed by Stuart Rideout for The Climate Coalition – a group of moer than 100 organisations including Oxfam, Greenpeace and WWF. It features celebrities such as Stephen Fry, Emilia Fox, Dermot O'Leary and Jarvis Cocker, reading lines from the poem and ends with a call to “show the love” for the environment and push for action on climate change.
Fry said: "Climate change is already happening, yet not a lot is going on when it comes to doing something about it. When you think about losing what you love because of climate change, it’s a no-brainer to want to see things change for good.
"It’s time our world felt the love. We need to stop climate change so that the things we love
are not lost."
The film is part of a week-long campaign which will involve other supporters, artists and thought leaders declaring their stance on climate change. In addition, the public will be asked to “show the love” by sharing the film over social media and wearing green hearts.
