#WitnessFearless is also a rally call to netball fans to band together for this season and beyond.
Sports company Puma, alongside Suncorp Super Netball club the Melbourne Vixens, over the weekend launched a powerful campaign to empower the netball community and inspire a new audience of passionate fans.
Endorsed by Vixens co-captains Kate Moloney and Liz Watson, as well as the entire playing group - #WitnessFearless aims to inspire both new fans and existing to support netball for the remainder of 2020 Suncorp Super Netball season, and beyond.
The campaign acts as a challenging statement to those of the periphery of the netball community; other sports fans, media, keyboard warriors and general disbelievers.
It challenges them to think differently and question their pre-conceived notions on what netball is.
General manager – communications, marketing and partnerships at Netball Victoria, Kristen Penny, welcomed the campaign.
“It’s amazing to have a partner like Puma that aligns with our values,” Penny says.
“To not only come with us on our journey, but challenge us to be more, is exceptional.
“We saw how powerful the public is in response to the ‘no glamour here’ content piece, and we want to harness that for change.
“#WitnessFearless endeavours to unite not just our fans but reach new ones. We can’t wait to see it grow.”
#WitnessFearless is also a rally call to netball fans to band together for this season and beyond, uniting the netball community and giving them a platform to be heard.
“This campaign means a lot to us,” Puma senior head of marketing - Oceania, Neysa Goh, says.
“As a partner of the Melbourne Vixens and Netball Victoria, we not only want to support the athletes and their fans, but we want to drive awareness and respect for this great sport.
“We want to demand change, not accept what has gone before and influence what will happen next.
“This is a great moment for the sport, and we are very happy to be able to get behind the netball community and show our support.”
Melbourne Vixens players and staff wore commemorative custom warm-up shirts prior to the Round 6 clash with the GIANTS.
The front of their playing dresses also featured #WitnessFearless pride of place.
