To showcase the gaming possibilities of the recently launched PlayStation 5, PlayStation Australia has launched a local content series The PS5 Show, via earned creative agency Poem.
In each 5-minute video The PS5 Show host Nich Richardson will explore key features of the PlayStation 5, whilst showcasing some of the games players can experience on the all-new generation console.
New episodes will drop throughout 2021, with celebrity gamers and gaming influencers joining Nich on the sofa as they experience everything PS5 has to offer.
To kick off the series, Nich is joined by MMA Middleweight Champion and gaming superfan, Rob Whittaker.
Nich challenges Rob to take on the power of PlayStation 5 by playing the notoriously challenging, Demon’s Souls, Rob then puts Nich’s power to the test with a challenge of his own.
“The anticipation for PlayStation 5 was huge in Australia last year," Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia director of marketing Patrick Lagana says.
"As we move past the launch window, we want to showcase all the gaming possibilities of PlayStation 5 which our players may not be aware of or anticipated.
"As more people get their hands on PS5 this year, The PS5 Show will be the perfect place for gamers to check out and discover all the latest and greatest games & features of the system. We’re really excited to see how our community reacts to this and future episodes coming later this year.”
Poem executive creative director Matt Holmes says the agency is "passionate" about earning attention for brands.
“We wanted to find a way to showcase the next-gen features of the PS5 in an entertaining and interesting way, creating engaging social-first content that is uniquely Australian," Holmes says.

The PS5 Show will run across PlayStation Australia owned social channels, talent’s social pages, on console and PlayStation.com with paid digital implemented by MediaCom.
