Shane Warne – not afraid of anything. Except spiders. Warnie faces that fear in the latest ad for Sportingbet.

Sportingbet bets Warnie, its new brand ambassador, to take on a number of challenges including being shot at close range by paint balls and having cricket balls hurled at him at 150 kilometres per hour. He doesn’t blink an eye at any of them, but bring in an Australian tarantula and its a different story.

The first Sportingbet TV ad starring Warne breaks tomorrow (27 February). There is also digital, print and radio ads, social media and PR activity.

Sportingbet marketing director, Claire Murphy, said: “Shane is, without question, one of the most admired cricketers of all time. He’s the quintessential Aussie bloke who we’re sure is going to resonate with punters nationwide – so it is a perfect brand partnership for us.”
