What’s better than free food? Free KFC.
Is there anything more Australian than shouting your mate a bucket of KFC while watching the cricket?
According to KFC, Aussies are a generous bunch - so generous that the fast food retailer has designed a social campaign that gives users the opportunity to shout their mates KFC for free. The campaign will run for every minute for the final two weeks of the Big Bash league competition.
It was all hands on deck with Ogilvy Sydney taking the lead on the creative, with its social arm running the social media realm. Ensemble headed up the branded entertainment side, MediaCom was the media agency involved and Edelman Australia ran the PR.
The ‘Shout a Mate’ promotion rolls out across KFC’s Australia’s Twitter account, with users being encouraged to take a photo and tag the mate you want to give a bucket of deep-fried chicken with the hashtag #theHCG. The lucky winners then head into a store and collect their winnings.
KFC chief marketing and development officer, Nikki Lawson, says they are revelling in the generous spirit and pay-it-forward nature of Aussies: “We can’t wait to see people enjoying themselves and treating their mates.”
If anyone wants to send @AdNews a bucket of finger lickin’ good, we won't complain.
