Big Bash tops Test cricket in ratings battle

Ten's coverage of the Big Bash cricket has proved popular according to the OzTam overnight figures, overtaking Nine's showing of the Australia vs West Indies Third Test.

The Big Bash was the fifth and sixth most watched program of the night with 757,000 and 742,000 viewers respectively.

It pulled in ahead of Nine's coverage of the Australia vs West Indies Third Test, which saw a top of 718,000 viewers for session three. The first and second sessions saw audiences of 598,000 and 602,000 respectively.

Seven News pulled in the biggest audience last night with 1.18 million viewers across the metro markets, followed by Nine News on 1.10 million.

Nine's summer edition of current affairs show 60 Minutes picked up 815,000 viewers and was the third most watched program of the evening.

Network Nine won the night with 25.5% audience share followed by Seven on 25.1%. Ten picked up 23.1% audience share followed by ABC on 17.5% and SBS on 8.8%.
