YouTube has confirmed it will be introducing advertising while videos are paused.
A Google spokesperson said the company has been testing pause ads since 2023, with the initiative having been previously announced at events like the company's global Google Marketing Live and Brandcast upfronts.
"As we’ve seen both strong advertiser and strong viewer response, we’ve since widely rolled out Pause ads to all advertisers," said the spokesperson.
Advertising on Google’s YouTube is seeing more brand advertising as the digital giant applies increasing AI-driven solutions.
Google reported better than expected revenue in the June quarter, jumping 14% to $US85 billion, with advertising revenue hitting $64.6 billion and YouTube up 13% at $8.66 billion
YouTube's ads revenue was driven by growth in brand, as well as direct response.
At this year's YouTube Brandcast, the video sharing platform revealed research that shows it has the highest return on investment of all connected TV providers, outperforming the nearest competitor by 23%.
In 2023, the company introduced solutions allowing advertisers to put a 30 second non-skip ad in front of YouTube’s most popular content.
