Young Guns: Sophie Trimboli at Paramount ANZ

By AdNews | 22 August 2024

In this series, AdNews spotlights young talent in the Australian media, marketing and advertising sector. This time it's Paramount ANZ account manager Sophie Trimboli.

Time in current role/time at the company:

I’ve been in my current role as an account manager for just under two years, and at Paramount ANZ for three years.

How long have you been in the industry?

It’s been three years since I joined the media industry, all of which have been right here at Paramount ANZ.

How did you get here? Was this always the plan?

As many may say in media, amid the 2021 lockdowns I simply fell into the industry.

I was looking for an industry change, and a former colleague recommended that I apply for an account coordinator role at Paramount.

Making the transition from finance construction to media has been the best decision. I couldn’t be happier!

Who is your right-hand person/who guides you day to day?

I am so grateful to have such an amazing team to work alongside within the Melbourne office.

However, my right-hand person without a doubt would have to be my group sales manager, Mitch Robertson. Since day one, he has supported my journey from account coordinator to account manager.

What’s the best thing about the industry you work in?

The best thing would have to be the amazing people I get to work with every day – both internally and externally. The work culture we have here at Paramount ANZ is truly unmatched and I love having the privilege to work alongside such a great team, whom I continuously learn from each day.

And the biggest challenge?

One of the biggest challenges would have to be keeping up with the ever-evolving media landscape. I truly enjoy learning alongside some of the best in the business here at Paramount. They’re always teaching me new things and helping me evolve in this industry.

Whose job have you set your sights on in the future?

I would love to fulfill my dad’s dream for me to have a seat on The Project desk… Let’s see how far I can climb the ladder, haha.

Otherwise, a GSM/leadership role within the media industry is the next goal for me.

Where do you turn for inspiration?

I am so grateful to have such supportive family and friends who are there for me day in and day out, as well as my partner Adamo who inspires me to be my best self each day.

A special shout out to the amazing Georgia Ratcliffe – my previous group sales manager at Paramount, who I can not only call a Mentor but a good friend. No matter how jam packed her day is she will always make time to listen to my many questions and be there for professional or personal advice.

Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?

Impossible, they know everything.

In five years time, I'll be:

I would love to be within the senior leadership team here at Paramount or within the wider media landscape.
