In this series, AdNews spotlights young talent in the Australian media, marketing and advertising sector. This time it's Traffik, Clemenger Group’s experiential agency, senior account manager Renee Pantas.
Time in current role/time at the company:
11 months at Traffik!
How long have you been in the industry?
Around six years (a few Europe holidays also thrown in for good measure).
How did you get here? Was this always the plan?
I think it was always the plan. Due to my quick and fast organisational skills (and ability to talk!) a lot of my people ushered me towards doing a comms degree.
So off I went to do professional comms at RMIT which then led me to various roles spanning in account management at a full-service agency, internal comms at Maurice Blackburn, product marketing at Aus post and in-house marketing at a coffee e-commerce company.
Who is your right-hand person/who guides you day to day?
Honestly everyone! I credit my manager Aleks for giving me a steadfast introduction into the world of experiential and shopper marketing and giving me so much guidance. Then, being guided by the people around me and leaning on their experience and expertise is something I really value as teamwork gets the best work.
What’s the best thing about the industry you work in?
Working on fun activations, constantly challenging yourselves and being surrounded my motivated and inspiring people.
And the biggest challenge?
Deadlines. Print deadlines to be specific… always leave time to print!
Whose job have you set your sights on in the future?
A hard question to answer! Nobody in particular, just someone who has a senior leadership position doing great work.
Where do you turn for inspiration?
There’s two things: A) I turn inwards – meditation and exercise help me to alleviate brain fog and get the creative juices flowing. And B) Following brands on Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok and seeing what they are doing is the best for inspiration and ideas.
Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?
I’ve been on Deal or No Deal and Millionaire Hot Seat and I was a gymnast back in the day!
In five years' time I'll be…
Hopefully leading a team to do the best, most innovative work possible.
