Our Young Gun profile takes a look at some of the young talent across the advertising, adtech, marketing and media sector in Australia. It aims to shed light on the varying roles, people and companies across the buzzing industry.
Today we speak to Flare (part of Clemenger BBDO Sydney) senior account manager and content producer Anna Mounsey-Heysham.
Time in current role:
One year, two months.
How long have you been in the industry?
Over five years.
How did you get here? Was this always the plan?
After a year working in the art world, I felt bored and unstimulated. My brother at the time was working for John Hegarty and managed to get me work experience in BBH and I was completely sold! I quickly made the jump and started working full time at BBH.
Who guides you day to day?
It’s senior business director Conor Walsh who is hands down the best boss I’ve ever had.
What’s the best thing about the industry you work in?
The people.
And the biggest challenge?
The current biggest challenge is definitely COVID-19.
Whose job have you set your sights on in the future?
I want to be running Clems Flare (social and content practice) one day.
Where do you turn for inspiration?
I take inspiration from everywhere whether it be books, art, yoga, philosophy or podcasts. I get bored if I’m not continuously learning or self-improving.
My favourite advert is:
It’s got to be BBH’s 1982 Levi OOH ad - When the world zigs, zag – that launched their new black jeans. It’s an ad that I came across at the start of my career and has always stuck with me.
Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?
That I’m a recently qualified personal trainer.
In five years' time I'll be:
Running my own company
