The X Factor has returned and immediately assumed top spot in the overnight OzTam ratings, despite Facebook premiereing the episode three days earlier.
The reality show, hosted by Luke Jacobz and featuring judges Guy Sebastian, Dannii Minogue, James Blunt and Chris Isaak, pulled in a Five City Metro figure of 1.5 million on Sunday night, more than 100,000 clear of Seven News in second place.
The X Factor's season premiere was actually seen by a select group of people on Facebook three days before its on-air broadcast, with GlaxoSmithKline sponsoring the event. In just three hours and 45 minutes, 100,000 people logged on to watch.
In third place, the first part of the mini-series 'Peter Allen: Not the Boy Next Door' posted a figure of 1.3 million, completing a hat trick for Network Seven.
Elsewhere, The Biggest Loser found itself positioned down in 11th place, with the Network Ten show pulling in 646,000. The Biggest Loser is sponsored by Sage, Garmin, and Goodlife Health Clubs, and lists Citroen and Eastcoast Beverages as its major partners.
Unsurprisingly, Network Seven won the evening, taking a 37.5% audience share. Network Nine was in second, with a figure of 27.4%. ABC and Network Ten both posted 14.7% shares, with SBS following up with 5.7%.
