Wieden+Kennedy has appointed four creatives to service the McDonald's account in Sydney.

Chris Wilson and Roy Leibowitz have been hired as creative directors.

Jack Elliott and Lochie Newham have also joined as senior creatives.

Eric Helin, W+K's ECD who leads McDonald's account globally, said the four creatives are “a core part of this team we're building in Australia.”

“From the start it’s been important to us that we build this team with creative talent from the Wieden network, along with talented folks from Australia,” he told AdNews.

“This crew immediately understood our fan to fan approach and the importance of having McDonald’s show up in culture, versus just making ads.

“Roy, Chris, Jack and Lochie all have an incredibly high level of craft, are great people, and we couldn’t be more excited to have them here.”

AdNews revealed last month that Wieden+Kennedy had been added to McDonald's Australia's roster as an additional creative agency partner.

The agency's remit will start with Chicken and McCafé.

DDB Sydney, who serviced the account locally for 55 years, has also retained a chunk of the account.
