Hubbl has officially launched and Netflix is the only non-Foxtel property to have a button on the device's remote.

With Kayo Sports and BINGE occupying the other two buttons on the Hubbl remote (pictured below), some are wondering how Netflix secured such prominent placement. Why not Nine's Stan or ABC iView?

Hubbl is Foxtel's streaming solution to app hopping, bringing a myriad of streaming content services into one place. It plugs into any compatible TV and costs $99.

Industry sources told AdNews that Netflix's prime position as a button is due to the pre-existing relationship between the two entertainment providers.

Netflix has a long standing relationship with the Foxtel Group with content and billing integration dating back nearly five years.

Back in 2019, Foxtel partnered with Netflix to integrate the streaming platform into its set-top box technology.

As part of the deal with Netflix, Foxtel allowed viewers to swap in between the local cable platform and the US-based streaming giant's content via the same set-top box.
