whiteGREY Melbourne has been appointed by Sensis as its media and creative agency for the Yellow brand which is Australia’s largest online business directory and service provider of digital marketing products.

whiteGREY national managing director Katie Firth says the entire team was excited to work with such an iconic brand.

"From their trusty books, to their helpful website or handy app, we’ve grown up with Yellow Pages," Firth says.

"This is a super win for whiteGREY and we are looking forward to working with Yellow to develop a unified approach across creative, brand, technology and media.”

James Ciuffetelli, executive general manager for Yellow, says the brand is "delighted" to have whiteGREY manage both its media and creative.

The Yellow account will be led by group account director Alice Tschuchnigg supported by the agency’s core management team including head of strategy Nathan Rogers and creative duo, Garret Fitzgerald and Joe Hill who joined the team in April.

The new appointment comes after a recent TVC released by Sensis for the Yellow Pages. The campaign was created by Big Red and media was handled by Hatched Media.

The ad followed backlash against chocolate business Darrell Lea's recent "No worries, Jan" campaign, created by Melbourne agency Akkomplice, which imitated Yellow Pages' "Not happy, Jan" TVC.

The original campaign aired in 2000 and was created by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne. Sensis sent out a cease and desist letter to Darrell Lea which led to the new spot being withdrawn from air.
