Wendy's appoints VML and Today the Brave in Australia

US fast food giant Wendy's has appointed VML as its lead strategic and creative agency Today The Brave in Australia, AdNews can reveal. 

Lauren Leahy, chief transformation officer at Flynn Group, the master franchisee for Wendy's Australia, confirmed the news. 

“For its Australian business launch and roll out, Wendy’s has been working closely with VML as its lead strategic and creative agency, as well as global strategic communications agency, Burson, and full service creative agency, Today the Brave,” she told AdNews

Flynn Group acquired the Wendy’s master franchisee license for Australia in 2023. 

The first store opened on Cavill Avenue in Surfer's Paradise last month. 

The are plans of 200 in the market by 2034. Each will generate 30 to 40 jobs.

Abigail Pringle, US president of The Wendy's Company previously said Australia is a strategic market for long-term growth.

“Flynn Restaurant Group has incredible experience in the restaurant space, and we are thrilled to expand our relationship with them,” she said in a statement

“They have a strong leadership team, great culture, vast industry knowledge, success with our brand in the US, and we are confident that Flynn Restaurant Group is the right partner to unlock growth for Wendy's in Australia.”
