Paul Hutchison will become CEO of Bohemia Australia, after four years as chief executive of Wavemaker UK.
The appointment comes after a global search to replace Bohemia founder and CEO Brett Dawson who announced his plans in March to take on a broader remit within the AUNZ Group.
Hutch, as he is known, will not only be responsible for the management and growth of Bohemia Group but will sit on the executive team of M&C Saatchi Group AUNZ and lead the media and commerce capability.
“The beauty of the country, the unique approach of the people I met during the process and the opportunity to deliver real growth in innovative ways was very hard not to get excited about,” says Hutchison.
“I thrive in environments that have a clear vision, where teams come together to find solutions, the red tape is dissolved and entrepreneurialism is encouraged and rewarded.
"In all my dealings so far, it’s clear the M&C Saatchi AUNZ Group is a network that delivers that, and I can’t wait to build on its successes and create more amazing work for our clients that has a positive impact in the world.”
At Wavemaker UK, Hutchison was responsible for the growth of some of the UK’s largest clients including BGL Group, BMW MINI Group, IAG (British Airways), UK Government, Netflix, Paramount and Morrisons, navigating the business through the Maxus/MEC merger, championing the groups DEI agenda and successfully redefined the agency’s media partner collaboration.
M&C Saatchi Group AUNZ CEO, Justin Graham, said: “Defining an innovative media and commerce capability, one with creativity and data at its core, requires a leader with unique credentials.
"Hutch was a stand out, motivated by opportunity and the ability to make a real difference - equally across business results, and team culture.
"His ability to galvanise teams to deliver ambitious growth for brands, and the willingness to lean in to our ‘roll as one’ mindset is what set him apart.”
Hutchison will join the M&C Saatchi Group in Australia later this year.
