Val Morgan has added Amanda Bardas as executive editor to its soon-to-launch digital platform.
The launch date for Val Morgan Digital (VMD), a youth-focused site, will be revealed in coming weeks and already has former Pedestrian managing director Brian Florido onboard.
Adam Fischer, from Ziff Davis, has also joined as national sales director.
Bardas joins the team from her previous role overseeing the audience, editorial and platform strategy for PopSugar, part of the Pedestrian Group.
She also launched leading global title Who What Where in 2015, and has also worked at Byrdie and MyDomaine Australia.
“Amanda’s remarkable track record makes her a critical part of our digital team,” Florido says.
“Having worked with her in the past, I’m excited to welcome Amanda on board as we diversify the digital publishing division of Val Morgan.”
VMD will cover entertainment, lifestyle and health, with a focus on developing its video and native products.
“I'm looking forward to leading our team as we build and launch a new publishing platform that fills a gap in the Australian market for content that unlocks rich conversations and drives a deeper understanding of entertainment, life and style, wellness and culture,” Bardas says.
