Mark Zuckerberg has announced more ways for creators to make money on Facebook and Instagram, as well as utilise new technologies to transition to the metaverse.

Last year, the Meta founder and CEO shared that to help more creators make a living on Meta platforms, the company was going to keep paid online events, fan subscriptions, badges, and more products free for creators until 2023.

This has been extended until 2024, with creators also now able to give their paying subscribers on other platforms access to subscriber-only Facebook groups.

A test for creators to display their NFTs on Instagram has also been extended, with the feature set to roll out to Facebook in the future, starting with a small group of US creators.

Facebook Stars, a feature that allows creators to monetise their stream by viewers buying Stars and sending them to the creator while streaming, is being opened up to more people, as is the Reels Play Bonus program, which lets creators cross-post their Instagram reels to Facebook to monetise them there too.

Zuckerberg said that the company is testing a set place on Instagram where creators can not only get discovered and paid, but where brands can also share new partnership opportunities.
