Last night, the winners of The CEO Magazine’s 2019 Executive of the Year Awards were announced, with media agency boss and UM CEO Fiona Johnston winning Media Executive of the Year.
Johnston was also Runner Up for the major award of the night, The CEO of the Year award.
The black-tie awards evening took place at The Palladium at Crown, Melbourne where 600 guests from Australia’s major industries came together. The event was hosted by media journalist and Channel 7 personality Larry Emdur.
UM Australia has had another year of success as an agency under the leadership of Johnston including major client wins such as David Jones, Menulog, Mattel and Maserati, as well as retaining top tier clients Kmart and Coca-Cola South Pacific.
AdNews spoke with the media boss earlier this year, where she discussed the future of the agency and its formidable performance as an agency in 2018.
Alongside Johnston, Caleb Bush, Project ANZ MD and GPJ ANZ MD & SVP, was awarded Managing Director and Young Executive of the Year.
"I am incredibly proud to have been named Managing Director and Young Executive of the Year. Everyone at Project and GPJ ANZ, along with our amazing clients have played a role in this achievement with a stellar year and much more to come in 2020," Bush says.
