UM and OMD dominate MFA's 2015 NGEN finalists

By Lucy Carroll | 1 September 2015

The Media Federation of Australia have announced six finalists in the NGEN category for its annual awards, with four of the six contenders from media agencies UM and OMD. It follows the list of shortlisted entries for the main categories.

Entrants were asked to respond to a brief for the Mirabel Foundation, a children’s charity that supports young people affected by drug addiction and overdose.

MFA Awards Chairman Greg Graham said this year saw a “record breaking number of entries into the NGEN category,” with more than 30 senior representatives volunteering to take part in the judging process.

“As a group, we are very proud of the shortlist and the enthusiasm expressed by the client for the quality of entries and how useable many of the ideas were,” said Graham.

The Mirabel Foundation was selected by the MFA’s social partner UN LTD to be the 2015 charity in order to extend their reach beyond their current supporter base and educate the public on the issue of children affected by parental drug use.

The 2015 NGEN Award finalists are:

• Penny Watson, Maxus, The Mirabel Story

• Claire Crennan, OMD Fuse, When The Bell Rings

• Declan Peach & Jacqueline Osborne, UM, 365 Candles
