Twitter Australia’s acting managing director Angus Keene has been appointed chair of the IAB Executive Tech Council.
Keene replaces Peter Barry who had been in the role since June 2021. Barry was recently promoted to PubMatic vice president of addressability.
The IAB Executive Technology Council was launched in 2017 to identify and address issues in advertising technology innovation. This year, it's four main priority projects are supporting mentorship, addressing the talent and careers challenges, supporting the adtech inquiry, and providing Australian privacy guidance.
“Angus’ passion for developing and mentoring talent in the industry as well as his career experience working in media, innovation and tech makes him a perfect choice to guide the ETC and represent the industry at Board level,” says IAB Australia CEO Gai Le Roy.
“I look forward to working with Angus and the ETC continuing to deliver a first-class mentoring program, developing a range of new training programs; and of course, supporting the industry through the development of standards, education and shining a light on market innovation.”
The Executive Tech Council includes 30 representatives from media and technology companies including Google, News Corp, PubMatic, The Trade Desk, Yahoo, LinkedIn, Cartology, Twitter, Seven West Media, Pinterest, Carsales, Nine, and REA,
“I look forward to facilitating open communication between the board and all members of the ETC,” Keene says.
“Having more voices and perspectives within our industry will benefit our members, marketers, and agencies."
