The X Factor's Grand Final performance reigned over viewing on a weekend where The Smurfs out-rated the Wallabies.
The X Factor grand final pulled in 1.3 million metro viewers with the figure ballooning to 1.9 million including regional viewers.
It made for a good night for Seven, with the premiere of The Big Adventure, which aired before the Grand Final, bringing in 945,000 metro viewers for the evening.
The X Factor effect drew viewers from elsewhere, with Nine's Gotham suffering the most.
It posted 698,000 viewers for the night, which was down 44% from last week's premiere.
Meanwhile Nine's new reality show The Embassy drew in 874,000 when it went head to head with The Big Adventure, while Ten's Scorpion drew in 659,000 in the same time slot.
It was a relatively quiet night on Saturday, with the main talking point Channel Seven's airing of The Smurfs managing to out-rate the Wallabies' Bledisloe Cup match against the All-Blacks.
As word spread of Ewen McKenzie's resignation, more viewers started to tune into the broadcast with the post-match drawing in another 30,000 metro viewers.
Channel Seven edged Saturday night with a 28.6% share against Nine's 28.2% while the Wallabies couldn't help Ten overcome the ABC, which pulled in a 22.1% share against Ten's 16.4%.
Seven dominated Sunday with a 35.1% share against Nine's 25.9%, with Ten and ABC taking out the next two slots with a 17.5% and 14.9% share respectively.
