Angela Dressel has passed away, with industry colleagues paying tribute to her humour, creativity and character. In a 30 plus year career, she worked at Grey Group, Y& R, JWT, Clemenger and more recently client side at Spotlight.

She wrote: “I like to make it all about the visual. I strive to create work that's bright, bold and catches your attention. And if it makes you smile, even better.”

Jane Wong, on LinkedIn: “Extremely sad at the passing of my friend and colleague at many ad agencies, Angie Dressel.

“The world is dimmer without this ray of sunshine. For those who wish to pay tribute, details will be announced soon.”

Many left tributes.

Cate Lane: “My heart is broken. My darling friend of nearly 30 years. We created many campaigns together, drank buckets of wine, ate too much cheese and loved each other like sisters.

"Now who else is going to say to me 'Can you please write a headline that fits my layout'? I'll miss her sharp, wicked sense of humour, our long phone conversations and her beautiful presence in my life. However she'll live on in my memories and my heart.”

Lawrence Ackers: “ …one conversation with Ange could just shift your entire mood and make it all worthwhile. She was just such a ray of pure joy and I am filled with such sadness to hear the news that this gorgeous soul has left us. Thank you, Ange. You made many days bright.”

Helen Neville: “It feels like only yesterday we were working together. I loved your wicked sense of humour and your impeccable taste in rock and roll. I’m so sorry you have left this earth so soon, but I will see you up in heaven one day with all of the other blonde art directors, and we will have a chuckle and a glass of champagne.”

Warren Santos: “For the short time I have known and worked with her at Clemenger, we bonded well and were able to stay in touch afterwards. One of the nicest and very talented person I have ever come across.”

Sarah Carter: “Devastating and shocking news indeed. A huge loss to the creative and advertising industries but even more so to the world in general - we are down a beautiful, fun, thoughtful and talented human. Lots of love to her family and closest of friends.”
