Tourism Australia has confirmed Susan Coghill will be promoted to the role of CMO, replacing Lisa Ronson who departed the business in March.
Coghill has been working as the general manager creative, content and campaigns since 2017 where she has helped develop Tourism Australia's recent Dundee, Undiscover Australia and Australia Inc. campaigns.
She has also overseen the appointment of its new global creative agency M&C Saatchi who took on the national tourism agency's account in December.
Prior to her time with Tourism Australia, Coghill has held tenures at News Corp, Qantas and Westpac, as well as agency side at Whybin TBWA, M&C Saatchi and Publicis Mojo.
The news comes after Tourism Australia announced high profile marketer Lisa Ronson, who had been with the business since 2014, would exit to take on the CMO role at Coles Group.
Ronson led a number of award-winning marketing campaigns for Tourism Australia during her time with the business, including Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns which won a Titanium Lion award at the 2018 Cannes Lions Festival.
Ronson also oversaw the appointment of M&C Saatchi, as well as the appointment of Digitas as digital agency after a six month long pitch process.
Tourism Australia has also announced its managing director John O'Sullivan will depart the business in June to take on a new role as CEO and executive director of ASX-listed company Experience Co.
