Managing partner at Clemenger Group in New Zealand, Vanessa Nicol, has returned to Australia to take up the CHE Proximity Sydney MD role.
Nicol, who has been in her Auckland-based Clemenger role for nearly three years, fills a hole left by CHE's David Halter, who was promoted to chief strategy officer last year.
As a single agency across two locations, Nicol will also be a member of the agency’s leadership team and is responsible for all aspects of its operation.
Firmly staying in the Omnicom network, prior to her New Zealand Clems role she was head of Telstra at OMD Australia. Before that she was group head at M&C Saatchi Sydney where she led the Optus account.
A key focus of her role will be leading CHEP’s Telstra relationship, which spans across Melbourne and Sydney.
“Vanessa is intelligent, charismatic and full of energy,” CHE CEO Chris Howatson said.
“She brings a balanced perspective thanks to her creative, media and client side experience, making her a perfect leader at CHEP, as we transform more business with our connected creativity offer."
