Ten’s The Bachelor has officially arrived and just like the seasons before, it has exploded of the small screen and taken over the Twitterverse.
Last night’s launch episode, which sees ex-contestant Richie Strahan make his return in search of love, was the number one TV program discussed on Twitter last night, trending on the platform for several hours.
In addition to #TheBachelorAU trending, Channel Ten and Bond's ambassador Zoe Foster Blake were popular on Twitter throughout the show, as well as former Bachelorette Sam Frost and host Osher Gunsberg.
The Bachelor took out a 52% share of TV tweets and taking at the number one reality program on Twitter so far in 2016.
The Bachie always gives Twitter a lot to talk about, from Sasha eating a rose during the ceremony to Keira emerging as the shows token villian. Data from media intelligence platform Meltwater shows the social media conversations happening about the new contestants, with Janey and Keira capturing the most attention.
Despite The Bachelor Aus Twitter account tweeting MP Mike Baird, he didn't get in on the fun last night as he has in previous years.
